How to replace the bonnet lift struts? In this video, see how to replace the gas spring on the front bonnet of a Volkswagen T-Roc. Lift the front bonnet and secure it, then use a screwdriver to detach the metal hooks that hold the worn strut at both ends (or unscrew the fastening pins). Fit the new part onto the vehicle, securing the strut with the clips/pins. Proceed in the same way for the disassembly/assembly of the opposite strut. Finally, test the gas springs fitted previously.
