How do you reset the handbrake of the Volkswagen Passat?

The procedure for resetting the handbrake on the Volkswagen Passat is done by connecting a diagnostic tool to the OBD port of the vehicle: this will be located on the lower left side of the dashboard compared to the steering column. Once the scanner has been properly connected, it will be possible to select the model of the car in question and its corresponding version; at this point, it will be possible to follow all the instructions on the scanner to ensure that the handbrake error is deactivated. In this way, the scanner can be disconnected and it can be verified that the handbrake is functioning.
