Easily Replace the Driver's Window Switch

Model: Volkswagen Passat 3BG, B5 - Years 1996-2005
Part: Window switch

Using a screwdriver, lever in the gap to push out the plastic cover located inside the window switch panel. Lift the panel by prying it from the back with the screwdriver, taking care not to damage it. Pull it upwards with the right force to free it from its seat in the door. Rotate it and disconnect the connectors, being careful not to pull too hard on the wires. On the back of the window switch module, you will find 3 screws that you need to unscrew. This way, you will have removed the switch. Take the replacement part, position it with the correct orientation, and screw the 3 screws back in carefully. Then reconnect the connectors, press the control panel back into the door, and reattach the small plastic cover removed earlier.
