The steps to follow to replace the battery of the Volkswagen Transporter key are quite simple to do independently. The first step to take is to insert a small flathead screwdriver at the base of the key in order to push the top part of the key. The second step is to remove the bottom part of the key to release the microchip and the battery. The third step is to replace the battery with a new CR1632 model. The fourth step is to insert the microchip with the battery inside the key. The fifth step is to close the key and mount the top part onto the metal base.
