These short and simple steps will illustrate the process of disassembling and replacing the drum brake shoes of the Volkswagen Polo. First, lift the car and start by removing the rear wheel; then remove the central pin, unscrew the central nut of the drum (using a socket wrench) to remove it, as shown in the video. At this point, release the brake shoe spring, remove them from the brake backing plate; clean the brake system from any remaining dirt, install the new original brake shoes and reassemble the drum.
