How to change the front brake pads of the Volkswagen Polo V

Let's see how to change the front brake pads on the Volkswagen Polo V: first, lift the car and remove the front wheels, open the brake fluid reservoir to release any residual pressure. Remove the caps of the caliper bolts (2 bolts of 7 mm); hang the caliper with a wire to the shock absorber spring, to avoid stressing the brake line. Remove the old pads, using a screwdriver, clean the seat with a metal brush and a brake cleaner, then retract the piston with pliers, pushing it inward. Insert the new pads, reassemble the caliper and tighten the bolts to 35/410 Nm, also putting back the protective caps. Repeat on the other side, reassemble the wheels and lower the car. Pump the brake with the engine off to restore pressure. To avoid scratching the disc, clean it with a brake cleaner before reassembly; avoid sudden braking for the first 50 km and check the brake fluid level: if it is too high, aspirate it with a syringe.
