Location of the EOBD port on the Volkswagen Polo V

The EOBD (European On Board Diagnostic) port is a standardized connector found on all gasoline vehicles sold in Europe since 2001, and since 2004 for diesel vehicles. Its function is to provide access to the vehicle's self-diagnosis system: in fact, through this port it is possible to read error codes, monitor engine parameters in real time, clear error codes, check emission system readiness, and obtain information about the vehicle. On the Volkswagen Polo V, this port is located in the lower part of the dashboard, between the driver's door and the steering wheel, not protected by any cover.
