How do you replace the remote key battery on a Volkswagen Golf 7? Follow these steps: take your remote and press the metal key release button; once the metal key is opened, use a screwdriver to lever between the key case and the top plastic cover (the space where the metal key fits). Pry until the cover opens; extract the worn battery with a screwdriver and take a new one of the same size and voltage. Refit the cover on your remote by pressing on the key case until you hear the locking click. Check the correct operation of the remote.
