Learn how to install an external mirror on a Volkswagen Tiguan. Using a plastic or rubber-coated spatula, pry between the perimeter of the mirror frame and the mirror glass.

Pry until the glass detaches from the mirror (disconnect the power cable); this is a delicate operation as the glass or mirror may break. Press on the locking clips to disconnect the mirror cover, replace the damaged part with a new one. Remove the mirror cap if you need to access the interior.
