The reset of the service light must be performed after carrying out the necessary service operations indicated by the light with the spanner symbol. To reset it on a Volkswagen Passat, we need to turn on the instrument panel and press the trip button. Hold the button down to start updating the mileage for the next service after selecting the spanner symbol. Once the mileage update is complete, restart the instrument panel. If the service light does not reset, take the vehicle to a workshop for a diagnostic check.
