Disassembly and Replacement of Engine Air Filter

Model: Volkswagen Golf Golf IV, MK 4, Golf 4 - Years 1997-2003
Part: Air filter

Open the front bonnet and ensure it is securely supported: the air filter housing is located at the rear left (when facing the engine). First, disconnect the connector attached to the mass air flow sensor (MAF) to facilitate disassembly. Unscrew the fixing screws of the cover (without removing them), lift the cover, and extract the old air filter. Remove any debris from the filter housing, then apply the new filter and screw the cap back on. Finally, reconnect the MAF sensor.
