How to disconnect the mass air flow sensor on a Volkswagen Golf? Follow this guide. Open the car door, pull up the engine compartment release lever located at the bottom left of the dashboard, and lift the bonnet. Secure the bonnet. Remove the air filter box from the vehicle body, then use a screwdriver to disconnect the wiring next to the engine air intake pipe and the metal clip pin. Remove the filter cap with the attached mass air flow sensor. Finally, refit the air box cap with the mass air flow sensor and tighten the screws. Close the bonnet.
