In today's video tutorial, you will learn how to remove and replace the starter motor on the fifth generation Volkswagen Golf with a 1.6 FSI engine, following these simple steps. First, open the bonnet of your car and start by removing the battery, unscrewing the terminal bolts; then remove the battery tray using a socket spanner to unscrew the bolts. At this point, remove the air filter housing by disconnecting the mass airflow sensor; now unscrew the mounting bolts of the starter motor and then disconnect the electrical connector. Replace it with the new one!
