Volkswagen Golf - Video tutorial

Model: Volkswagen Golf Golf V, MK 5, Golf 5 - Years 2003-2008
Part: Brake discs
Operation: Replacement brake discs and rear brake pads

Raise the car on a lift and remove the wheel where the repair is to be carried out. Unscrew the rear brake caliper fixing pins, remove the caliper itself and the relative pads: the specific tool that allows the piston to rotate is required to make the brake caliper piston return. Therefore, unscrew the fixing pins of the brake caliper support, always placed at the rear. Then remove the brake disc fixing pin and remove the disc itself; grind the hub to remove any oxidation before applying the new disc. Finally fix the new disc, reassemble the caliper support, insert the new pads and then the caliper by tightening the relative fixing pins. Proceed to the same motion on the other side. Before setting off, pump the brake pedal until it offers the right resistance.
