How to Open the Boot of a Volkswagen Golf 6 Cabriolet in Case of Roof Malfunction

This procedure is an emergency method to open the boot when the roof does not close completely, and the electrical system does not allow unlocking the boot: open the driver’s door, locate the small panel on the left door pillar (near the base of the pillar), and open the panel by lifting it with a screwdriver. Inside, you will find a release cable. Pull the cord with steady and firm force. The boot will then open manually: the cord is directly connected to the boot release mechanism. After this release, it may be necessary to manually reset the roof or take the car to a workshop.
