How to Reset the DSG Gearbox on a Volkswagen Tiguan?

To reset the DSG automatic gearbox on a Volkswagen Polo, move the gear selector to position P and then engage the handbrake; from this position, press the accelerator pedal for about forty seconds. Next, activate the instrument cluster and wait a moment; then turn off the ignition and keep the accelerator pedal pressed for about ten seconds. Release the pedal, lock the car, and then unlock it with the remote: this will reset the gearbox to its default settings.
