How to Unlock the Tailgate of a Volkswagen Polo

If the tailgate of a Volkswagen Polo is stuck, you can unlock it manually by following this procedure: open the boot through the lowered rear seats. Locate the internal panel of the tailgate, usually plastic on the inside. Carefully remove it to access the unlocking mechanism. You will find an emergency lever or pull connected to the lock: pull it towards you firmly to unlock the tailgate. Once the lever is activated, the tailgate will open manually. If necessary, check that the mechanism is not blocked by ice or dirt before forcing it open.
