Replacing the Key Battery on a Volkswagen Golf

Let’s look at replacing the remote key battery on a Volkswagen Golf. Take your remote and press the metal key release button. Once the metal key is out, use a screwdriver to pry between the two covers of the key (in the space where the key fits). Pry until the cover opens, then, using a small screwdriver, remove the battery (get a new one of the same size and voltage). Close the cover with the cap (press on the key case until you hear it click into place). Check the remote's proper functioning by pressing the buttons.
