Replacing the Thermostat on VW Passat

Model: Volkswagen Passat 3BG, B5 - Years 1996-2005

Is the thermostat damaged? Here's how to remove it from inside the engine bay of the Passat. Open and lift the front bonnet, undo the bolts of the thermostat hose (use a socket spanner with the appropriate sockets), remove the sealing cap from the housing and extract the thermostat from its seat. Fit the new part and close it with the hose cap. Tighten the previously removed bolts properly. Ensure the valve is inserted and fitted correctly in the appropriate housing. Start the Passat and check its operation. Close the front bonnet.
