Removing the Catalytic Converter from a Volkswagen Golf

Model: Volkswagen Golf Golf IV, MK 4, Golf 4 - Years 1997-2003

In today's video, you will see how to remove the catalytic converter from a Volkswagen Golf. Lift the vehicle and separate the catalytic converter from the exhaust manifold: this means you will need to unscrew the fastening bolts between the manifold and the catalytic converter; alternatively, you may need to cut it and then weld the manifold to join the parts. Follow the video to the end for further useful tips. The catalytic converter is normally not removed as it retains all the pollutants expelled by the exhaust.
