Replacing the Gear Knob and Gear Lever Gaiter

Model: Volkswagen Maggiolino MK 1 - Years 1938-1980
Part: Shifter boot

Once the knob of the old gear lever is removed, unscrew the two fixing pins of the flange that connects the gear lever to the centre tunnel (be careful of the spring located just below the lever).
Then apply the new shaped plate, clean and grease the gear lever housing, and insert the new lever complete with rubber gaiter, tightening the two fixing pins of the flange at the base of the lever; finally, check the correct operation of the lever for engaging the gears and the side button for engaging reverse.
