Replacing the Door Sill Trim

Model: Volkswagen Maggiolino MK 1 - Years 1938-1980

To facilitate the removal of the metal parts to be replaced, first remove the doors: remove the circlip from the hinge pin, then extract the pin and remove the door. Use a drill to bore out the weld points securing the door sills to be replaced. Use wooden wedges to create a support/scaffold to lift the body from the chassis, just enough to extract the sill. Restore the area of the metal where the door hinge sits and finally apply the new sill by welding it to the chassis.
