Removing the Rear Light and Replacing Bulbs on a Volkswagen Polo

Model: Volkswagen Polo Polo VI, Polo 6, MK 6, AW1, MK VI - Years 2017-2025

Open the boot lid and also open the small side flap disguised in the boot fabric. To do this, simply unscrew the closing cap. Now, with the flap open, you can access the back of the light and unscrew the light unit from behind. Try to pull the light out of its housing: if it does not come out easily, use a plastic lever (not metal!). Disconnect the connector by opening the clip with a flat screwdriver. Now, with the light unit in hand, you can open it from the back (there are four clips) and unscrew the bulb you wish to replace.
