Instructions for Replacing the Fuel Filter

Model: Volkswagen Golf Golf IV, MK 4, Golf 4 - Years 1997-2003

The fuel filter is located beneath the vehicle's floor, at the rear, near the fuel tank. It is secured to the chassis with a metal clamp, and fuel inlet and outlet pipes are connected at both ends. The first step is to disconnect the pipes: they are connected to the filter via quick-release fittings; press the safety to remove them. Once the pipes are disconnected, unscrew the clamp and replace the filter: it is important to install the new one respecting the direction of fuel flow. Once the filter is secured to the chassis with the appropriate fastening clamp, reconnect the pipes.
