Replacing the Rear Shock Absorbers

Shock absorbers should be replaced when they no longer perform their function, regardless of the mileage. To replace them, lift the vehicle and secure it. Remove the wheel and position a jack or hydraulic jack under the spring support to lift it slightly. Unscrew the two retaining bolts of the shock absorber with a 15mm spanner. If the bolts are seized, use a penetrating spray, wait for it to take effect, and apply force on the spanner. Remove the discharged shock absorber and fit the new shock absorber, ensuring it is of the same type. It is advisable to replace the fixing bolts; if not, clean the old ones thoroughly and grease them. Use a torque wrench to tighten the bolts. Conduct a road test to verify proper functioning.
