Instructions for Replacing Rear Shock Absorbers

Replacing the rear shock absorbers is relatively straightforward as the spring and damper are separate, so there is no need for special clamps to move the spring from the old to the new shock absorber; however, it may happen, as shown in the video, that the mounting bolt of the shock absorber to the rear axle support refuses to come off (common if the vehicle has been driven on snowy roads covered in salt): you will need to be resourceful to remove it without causing damage; a first step is to cut the eye of the shock absorber to extract it from its seat; at this point, remove the bolt and you could either use a blowtorch as shown in the video (but personally, I would avoid using open flames near the fuel tank) or a grinder with a cutting disc. Then proceed in reverse for the installation of the new shock absorbers.
