Volkswagen Golf - Video tutorial

Model: Volkswagen Golf Golf V, MK 5, Golf 5 - Years 2003-2008
Part: Shock absorbers
Operation: Check rear shocks beating

If you hear a knock coming from the rear wheels when driving on a bumpy road, it is very likely that the rear shock absorber supports have collapsed; it is therefore suggested to lift the car and remove the rear wheels: actually you notice a failure of the rubber damper that should be attached to the upper support plate of the shock absorber; clearly in the event of a depression, the shock absorber reaches the end of its travel and since the rubber damper is no longer there, the beating is heard; it will therefore have to be replaced.
