Volkswagen Golf - Video tutorial

Model: Volkswagen Golf MK 4, Golf IV, Golf 4 - Years 1997-2003
Part: Shock absorbers
Operation: Rear shock absorber replacement

To replace the rear shock absorbers, lift the car, remove the rear wheel, apply a support jack under the suspension and proceed with disassembling the upper support of the damper and then the lower fixing pins to complete the disassembly; if the spring must also be replaced, rather than using the clamps to squeeze it, the jack can be lowered in order to lower the suspension and release the spring; then apply the support rubbers to the new spring and insert it in its seat; move the support and the bellows on the new damper and install it in the car.
