Removing the Fuel Filler Flap on a Tiguan

Model: Volkswagen Tiguan 5N, MK 1 - Years 2007-2016

Let's look at removing the fuel filler flap on a Tiguan. Open the fuel flap, unscrew the filler cap, and with a screwdriver, unscrew the locking tab. After unscrewing the securing screws, grasp the frame of the flap with both hands and pull it towards you. While pulling the flap frame away, lever around it and remove it. The drain tube will come away with the frame. Remove the rubber protection if necessary. Install the new fuel flap by reversing the procedure. At the end of the installation, check the operation of the flap.
