How do you change the cover and battery of a Passat key? Let's see how to disassemble the VW Passat key. Take your remote and slide the button to release the metal key. Once extracted, remove the chrome part. Pry open the key cover until the two pieces separate.

Take out the battery, disassemble all the internal parts, and transfer them to a new key cover. Replace the worn battery (replace the buttons if damaged), taking a new one of the same size and voltage.

Check the proper functioning of the Passat remote.
