Replacement of Cooling System Flange

Model: Volkswagen Jetta A4, MK 4 - Years 1998-2005
Part: Antifreeze coolant

Open the front bonnet and locate the cooling system flange: it is situated on the right side of the engine block (when viewed from the front) and is connected to several hoses and sensors. During disassembly, coolant will spill out: it is recommended to perform this repair with the engine cold. Disconnect the hoses connected to the flange and the sensors (remove the locking pin); then unscrew the flange's fastening bolts and remove it from its seat; fit the new one by tightening the bolts and reconnecting the sensors and hoses; restore the coolant level.
