How to remove the external lock of a 2011 Volkswagen Polo

Model: Volkswagen Polo Polo 5, Polo V, MK 5, MK V, 6R - Years 2009-2017

This guide shows how to remove the external door handle of the Volkswagen Polo. As the first step, using the ignition key, lever off the lock cover to remove it. Using a flathead screwdriver from inside the door, remove the rubber cap covering the lock screw and the adhesive nearby. Using a Torx20, unscrew the exposed screw. Insert the key into the lock and turn it to the right to loosen the second screw (the one under the adhesive); once loosened enough, you can remove the lock cylinder. Pull the handle as if you want to open the door; at this point, it is completely free and can be replaced. Reassembly is the same as the procedure just performed. At the end of the operation, check the proper functioning of the lock.
