Before starting, open the bonnet of your Volkswagen Passat. Begin by unfastening and removing the two clips that secure the strut to the bonnet and the base, using a flathead screwdriver to pry them off. Next, dislodge and extract the strut from its housing.

By doing this, you will have freed the strut itself. At this point, you can remove the bonnet strut from your Volkswagen Passat.

Once you have completed this step, the disassembly will be finished, and you will be free to install the new strut.

How to open the bonnet on a Volkswagen Golf?
