Removing the Gas Strut on a VW Passat

Model: Volkswagen Passat B6, 3C - Years 2005-2010

Is the bonnet gas strut damaged? Let's see how to replace it from inside the engine bay of a Passat. Lift the bonnet and secure it with a prop to replace the strut you will remove. Use a screwdriver to detach the metal clips that hold the worn strut at both ends. Fit the new strut onto the car body. Secure the strut with the metal clips/pins. Test the operation of the new strut installed in the engine bay. Close the bonnet once the installation is complete.
