How to Remove the Rear Bumper on a Volkswagen Golf Mk4

This guide shows how to remove the rear bumper and rear lights on a Volkswagen Golf Mk4. The first step is to remove the trim panels in the boot to expose the back of the lights. On the left side, unscrew the three fixing screws for the light; one screw is hidden behind the radio amplifier bracket. Now you can rotate the light outwards to detach it and disconnect the electrical cable. For the right rear light, after unscrewing the two fixing bolts, you can extract it using the same method as the left; be careful as there is a fixing clip at the bottom of the light. Next, unscrew the Torx screws securing the bumper. You can then remove the bumper.
