How to Replace the Diesel Filter on a VW Golf 5

To replace the diesel filter on the vehicle, follow these steps: open the bonnet, locate the diesel filter situated at the bottom right of the engine bay. Using a torque spanner, remove the five screws on top that secure the filter cover, then lift the cover while keeping all the pipes connected on top. Take a large flat screwdriver and lever the edge of the filter to lift it out of the housing, using your hands to rotate it if necessary. Once the old filter is removed, take the new one, ensuring you replace the seals on the top cover. Reposition the cover and refit the five screws.
