How to Replace the Key Battery on a Volkswagen Transporter T5

To replace the battery in your Volkswagen Transporter T5 key, separate the two halves of the remote with a screwdriver (top and bottom). In the lower half, pry to separate the two sides (front and back). In the video, they do this with the key itself, showing that it is exactly the size that fits between the two halves. Open it. One side has the electronics, the other has the battery. Remove the battery by gently prying it out - turning the battery reveals it is a CR2032, which costs a few pounds at any supermarket. Replace it, ensuring the writing contacts the electrodes, and close the remote (it clicks shut). Now reposition the top part with the key. The job is complete.
