This brief guide shows how to replace the ignition key battery on a Volkswagen Transporter T4, produced from 1990 to 2003. To open the key, first locate a small slot along its edge. Once found, insert a small flathead screwdriver into the slot and twist it to pry the key open.

After doing this, remove the old battery and replace it with a new one. The required battery is the V625U.
