Engine Assembly Instructions After Overhaul

Model: Volkswagen Passat B6, 3C - Years 2005-2010

Once the valve seats are prepared and the valves are installed by attaching the respective springs, proceed with lubricating the rocker support shaft and place the new rockers in their respective seats, gradually sliding the shaft until it reaches the end of its travel, then secure it by tightening the fixing pin of the terminal bracket. Proceed in the same manner for both the intake and exhaust valves. Complete the installation of the intake manifold by replacing the gasket and tightening the bolts with a torque wrench; perform the same operation for the exhaust manifold; lubricate the turbo and insert the gasket for the connection to the exhaust pipe flange. Once certain of the flatness of the cylinder base surface, re-tap the threads of the head fixing holes, clean the cylinders of any debris; bring the pistons to top dead centre and check the protrusion relative to the cylinder base. At this point, apply the new head gasket, position the head itself, and tighten the fixing bolts in a cross pattern with the appropriate torque; insert the new camshaft, lubricating it beforehand and applying the new sliding bearings, then complete the assembly of the timing pulleys, timing belt, rocker cover, and the vacuum pump.
