Camshaft Oil Seal Replacement

Model: Volkswagen Passat B6, 3C - Years 2005-2010

During the engine assembly phase, if the cylinder head has been removed, it is always advisable to replace all gaskets and oil seals: a so-called gasket kit is available on the market. To apply the new oil seals to the camshaft seats, ensure there are no dirt residues, lubricate both the seat and the new oil seals with clean oil, and insert them with the lip facing inward, pushing them in until fully seated with the appropriate tool. Then proceed with the installation of the timing pulleys, aligning the timing marks and fitting the timing belt.
