To replace the battery of the remote for the Volkswagen Passat B8, slide the button located at the top of the device to extract the key fob next to it. Once the key fob is removed, use a lever to remove the plastic cover on the back of the remote, under which the battery is located. This can then be taken out from its housing and replaced with a new spare part. After installing the new battery, reinsert the plastic cover and the key.
