How to change the battery or replace the buttons on the remote key of a Volkswagen Passat? Let's see in this detailed video how to do it. Take your remote and slide the button to release the metal key. Once extracted, use a screwdriver to pry open the key cover until the two pieces separate. Remove the battery holder, replace the worn battery (replace the buttons if damaged) with a new one of the same size and voltage. Reassemble the cover with the buttons by pressing on the remote key until you hear the locking click. Finally, insert the metal key back into the remote. Check the remote's proper functioning.
