This short video tutorial shows how to replace the key battery on a Volkswagen Passat mk8, produced from 2014 to 2022. Start by removing the physical emergency key from the remote using the designated release lever. Next, insert a small screwdriver into the slot of the removed key and lever off the back cover of the remote to detach and remove it. Once the cover is removed, you will see the old battery that needs changing.

Replace it and refit everything by reversing the procedure.
