To completely remove the front door of a Volkswagen Golf, open the door so that the connectors near the door hinges can be disconnected. Once these are disconnected, loosen the bolts securing the door to the car at the hinges. After loosening the bolts, detach the door from its housing to fit a new one: the new door must be connected to the connectors and secured to the hinges with the appropriate bolts.
