Instructions for Replacing the Diesel Filter

Model: Volkswagen Sharan MK 1, 7M - Years 1995-2010
Part: Diesel fuel filter

Open the bonnet to access the engine compartment and remove the plastic cover: the diesel filter is located at the front left of the engine (when viewed from the front), just behind the headlight; for safety, it is advisable to place rags or paper around the filter housing to catch any diesel that may spill; without disconnecting the hoses connected to the filter, unscrew the screws around the flange and lift it, possibly suspending it with an elastic band; then extract the filter cartridge and clean the diesel from the housing, removing any dirt residue; fill the filter housing with clean diesel to allow for the subsequent starting of the engine and insert the new cartridge, then apply the flange cover and tighten the respective securing pins.
