To replace the tailgate lock of the Volkswagen Golf, open the tailgate to loosen the screws of the inner panel. By unscrewing these screws, the panel can be removed, and you can loosen the two screws outside the lock: once the screws are loosened, disconnect the connector attached to the lock, allowing it to be extracted from its housing and replaced with a new one. Once the new lock is inserted, remount all the removed components.
