How to Replace the Key Shell of the Volkswagen Touareg

To replace the key shell of the Volkswagen Touareg, lift the key by pressing the appropriate button. Then, unscrew the screw that secures the key to the top part of the remote, so it can be completely detached. At this point, lever open the groove that separates the two halves, allowing access to the internal battery and coding chip, which can be removed and inserted into the new shell. You will also need to secure the key to the new shell by tightening the appropriate screw. Finally, insert the key into the ignition to check that everything works correctly.
