How to Replace the Remote Key Battery of a Volkswagen Touareg

To replace the battery in the key of a Volkswagen Touareg, you will need a new CR2032 battery and a small screwdriver to open the key casing. Take your key and press the button with the Volkswagen logo to release the catch; while holding it down, it will be easy to extract the emergency blade. Using the screwdriver, apply pressure downwards inside the hole on the left to lower the button inside; at the same time, pull the left casing of the key to open it. The battery is located inside the housing that is now exposed. To open it, use the screwdriver to lever it off and remove the battery. Now it's time to replace the battery and reinsert it into the designated slot. Refit the casing, applying slight pressure until you hear a click, and reinsert the emergency key.
