How to Replace the Battery in a Volkswagen Tiguan Key Fob

Model: Volkswagen Tiguan 5N, MK 1 - Years 2007-2016

Take the car key and press the button to extend the key from the fob. Use your fingers to pry at the seam until the cover pops off. With a pointed object, pry one side of the battery to release it from the spring holding it in place. Check the code on the old battery and replace it with a new equivalent one. Reinsert the battery into its housing by sliding it in and then press to secure it in place. Reposition the fob cover and press firmly to click it back on. Test the fob to ensure it works by pressing the buttons; the LED should light up.
