How to Replace the External Wing Mirror on a Volkswagen Passat?

To replace the external wing mirror on a Volkswagen Passat, unscrew the screws securing the door panel so it can be completely removed. Once the panel is detached, you will have access to the underlying components and can lever off the triangular panel near the mirror. Then, disconnect the connector and unscrew the screws underneath to remove the mirror from the outer side of the door, allowing you to insert a new replacement part.
